Parents expect an email by 5:oo pm with information that your child will need to join Google Meet.

 *All assignments are not due on the day they are given.

*One photo for one page in your journals-some of your teachers (Mr. Kelly) are getting old and have a difficult time reading the small images.

*It is more important to complete the assignments and not to worry about due dates, send in when it is finished

To Do’s For Today…



1) Literacy 30 minutes

*Watch the video below and listen to chapter two of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Katie DiCamillo. We are going to meet four new characters: Mom, Dad, the maid, Rosie the Dog.

·       Next on your target page, place the names of Rosie the dog, the maid, Mom and Dad.
·       Do not send in your updated target page tomorrow.













Math: 
Your challenge is watch the videos posted below. There is one for grade three and another one for grade four. All students can send in their work on Tuesday. There is no rush.

A Review of Multiplication in Problem Solving

Learning Intention:
·      I can solve problems in context involving multiplication.

Materials Needed:
·      Math journal
·      Pencil
·      Eraser
·      Possible math manipulatives if you like to create a model (ie.  Cheerios, buttons, lego pieces of equal size)

Assignment:
1.    In your math journal, complete 1 question from each of the 3 sections below.  Feel free to do more if you choose.
Section 1
1)    There are 4 cups of hot chocolate with 3 marshmallows in each cup.  How many marshmallows in all?
2)    There are five robins in a tree.  How many wings would there be altogether?
3)    Challenge:  There are 4 soccer teams in a tournament.  Each soccer team had 10 players.  How many kids participated in the tournament?
Section 2
1)    Each day Mr. Der asks students to do 5 push-ups in class.  How many push-ups would you complete after 4 days?
2)    Each day in gym, students run 3 laps.  If each lap takes 2 minutes, how many minutes do students run for?
3)    Challenge:  Melissa earns $15 each week for shoveling her neighbour’s sidewalks.  How much will she earn each month?
Section 3
1)    There are 3 rows on a tic tac toe board and 3 spaces within each row.  How many spaces are there altogether on the board?
2)    We were getting ready for an assembly.  There were 4 rows and 5 kids in each row.  How many students were there altogether?
3)    Challenge:  There are 12 floors in an office tower downtown.  Each floor has 8 windows.  How many windows are there altogether?

2.    For each question,
a.    draw a picture.
b.    write a repeated addition sentence.
c.     write a multiplication sentence with the answer.
3.    Upload a photo of your work to IRIS and share with the teacher you have been working with in Math (Ms. Woo or Mrs. Danchuk). 

Do not send completed work until Tuesday.
